Alas, I prefer solo singers with negligible band support, such as Bob Dylan, Don McLean, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen or Katie Melua. However, in the interests of the poll, I will say The Cure (even though that is basically Robert Smith).

This has now become the world debate on what the best band is, and i agree that the foo fighters and the kc are good, but led zep and paramore ( also the offspring) have good tunes. but the White Stripes are the definitive rock/ blues duo.
