Geography and History lessons with Dr. Thomas Richards!

As Dr.Thomas Richards, teacher of Catoagoain History and Geography, enters classroom 4B, a flurry of paper aeroplanes, modelled like the new CRAF Y planes, all go kamazie towards his head. His bellowing voice of thunder soon puts the class back into order; a suffling of chairs and straightening of desks.

'Today class we are going to take notes on the Geography of Catoagoa, open your books to page 192, and make notes as I talk, there shall be a test on what you have learnt next week.

'The River Cotes flows through the Great Salt Plain Desert, ( see page 193 for digaram) with its source at the peak of the Highest Mountain Range in the Salty Mountains, the Jamboda Mountain Range, it is here that two tribes make their local residence, at the base of the mountians. The mouth of the River Cotes is a highly fertile area, with the surrounding area flooding each year, making it highly succsesful in growing crops. In the heart of the Great Salt Plain is the Nomadic Capitol of Catoagoa, named Rotegania, which survives as the largest trade and market centre in Duetaria for livestock and agricultre only by the gaint fresh water resevoir/well that runs underneath the city; this area being famous for the Rochman caves, the underground caves used by the Kingdom of Rocheuses as a base before they rebeled against Catoagoa and formed a seperate independante nation; the caves are no used by the Catoagoain Royal Army. The only animal known to live in the Great Salt Plains is Catoagoa's national animal, the Sphinx, it is a mystery as to how it survives. The mountains on the northern peninsula of the Great Salt Plains are two single standing mountains, not part of any mounatian range like all the other mounatians in Catoagoa. They are are the tallest and highest mountains in Catoagoa, but ironically are in the lowest area of Catoagoa. The highest mountain being called Mount Tram du Cru, named after the brave explorer and mountanier, Josiah Tram du Cru, who risked his life to conquer it. It is rumour that the Great Salt Plains are used by the Catoagoain Royal Airforce to house many secert airbases and aerodromes.
The most northernly and largest river in Catoagoa is the River Tranway. This river is the only reason why the Great Salt Plains stop, since it brings life and prosperity to the surrounding area, where trees and grass can grow. The Tranway Deleta is a sanctuary for wildlife and plants, where many exotic and rare species can be found, like the rare lesser spotted Sphinx and the rare Red Catoagoain Maple; Catoagoa's national tree.
The River Tranway is a very wide river, many miles across, it then runs ito a large basin that takes on a circular shape, it is here that the famous harbours of Catoagoa are found, using the river as a source for fishing and shipping to other Nations, it is rumoured that at the bottom of the Tranway Basin that the CRN are docking a new fleet of nuclear submarines.
As the the many tributaries of the River Tranway break of into the Tranway Rain Forest a couple of large towns, noted for there uranium inriching stations, are located, since underneath the forest are large expanses of uranium, used for weapons and as a power source.
The Tranway Rain Forest is, according to legend, supposed to house the oldest city in Catoagoa, the lost city of Catagoa, were builds were of gold, and as the morning sunlight rose it reflected of the towering spires and towers of majestirial buildings. Nothing much is known of the city now, other than that those who go to seek out the city have never returned, the lated foolhardy explorer to venture into the forest in search of Catagoa is a certain Prof. Matthew Letts. It is here, in the heart of the Tranway Tributaries, that the largest, but not the heighest, peaks of Catoagoa can be found, the Chadwick Mountains.
