Standardising currency.

Recently the values of our currencies have been talking sudden dives and climbs. For example the Red Coffee Block has dropped from 1.3 to the S.W.C (Standard World Currency to non-economists) to 8.7 to it; whereas the Fridge has gone from 36.4 to the S.W.C to 2.9 to it. What I ask of you is would it be too much of a sacrifice to reduce th number of currencies to 1 to about 4 or in the most extreme case to 1 for everyone.

We in Karkelbania will fight this. We shall defend our sovreign currency!

This is not in my best interests, as the typewriter is a very strong currency at the moment. We will not be affected by the economic shortfalls of others!

I think you will find that you will as the rest of the economies fall our region's overall value will fall causing a knock on effect to lowering the value of your economy.

And to King Wake, I am not proposing that we entirely eliminate our currencies permanently, just until we can stabilize our current economies.

The Darmsburger florian is at present the heaviest currency in Duetaria, and thus it is entirely removed from our priorities to standardise currencies. This is quite blatantly an attempt at stringent governmental control over finances by President Shortman.

The agreement with the concept of Standardisation of Currency has now been rejected by Ravenburg-Morovia's Government. After in depth consultation, we have decided that the proposal would radically endanger the individuality of Duetarian constituent states, and that it would severely impair the economies of nations such as Darmsburg-Gotha or Luschia, both of which have currencies far heavier than those of nations such as the Trade Republic and Romardia.

What Shortman says about our currencies being weakened anyway is not true. Many nations trade outside of Duetaria, and any economic collapse in it would affect us far, far less if we all had seperate currencies. I will never lose the Typewriter as a currency, it is symbolic of my glorious revolution, in which myself and my super-soldiers overthrew the old, normal-people democratic government with what is truly a better system, military dictatorship! And what is even better is that my people support it! (Well they are all super-soldiers as we enslaved all normal people)

President Shortman stands up in a rage "You imbeciles aren't listening! If you had listened none of you would have made these foolish remarks!" He storms out as the imbecilic leaders of his brother nations, once again don't listen and wonder where President Shortman had gone.

Treasury Minister Gwyneth Paltrow of Luschia and Treasury Secretary Count Thurn of Darmsburg-Gotha appear taken aback at this outburst, but the margrave of Sohm chuckles and leans over to them.

"Don't worry Matthias, Gwyneth, that will blow over," he says confidently, "It's just a little malaise at the tight race with Emperor Jally Jandro...er, I mean Alexandros. Still, a chap like Shortman will get back on track soon, I am sure. Now, let's get to that party at the Blue House!"
